Driver, 2 Children Die in Fiery Car Crash
From Times Staff Reports
A driver and two child passengers were killed Thursday in Pasadena when a car failed to make a hairpin turn and tumbled several hundred feet down the side of a canyon, catching fire, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 10:20 a.m. in the 1400 block of Glen Oaks Boulevard, a narrow, two-lane road that winds through hills west of the Rose Bowl.
It was unclear whether the driver had been exceeding the 25-mph speed limit, police said. There is no barrier along the road where the car went over the edge, investigators said.
