7 Chinese Activists Held for Landing on Island
From Times Wire Reports
Japanese police questioned seven Chinese activists who were arrested for landing on a remote island held by Japan -- an incursion that has reignited a century-old territorial row.
The activists were taken by helicopter from Uotsuri Island to Okinawa, a police spokesman said. Uotsuri is part of an uninhabited chain in the East China Sea known as the Senkaku in Japanese and Diaoyutai in Chinese. Japan, China and Taiwan all stake a claim to the chain.
