Antiwar Demonstration Gets Slight Coverage
Re “Thousands Worldwide Rally Against War,” March 21:
As one of the participants in the global demonstration on the one-year anniversary of America’s invasion in Iraq, I found it distressing that you chose to give the local mobilization so little coverage.
Thousands of people from every age group, ethnic group and economic background; numerous coalitions; veterans; and families with soldiers who have served or are still serving marched in Hollywood to express their outrage over the lies that got us into this illegal occupation.
As so many people who did not demonstrate need to know, there is still a conscience in this country. Fear-mongering from the White House will not deter steadfast opposition to this war and our immoral actions around the globe. History will prove that those who resisted this war were right, and the courage of those Angelenos who marched on Saturday is worthy of more than Page A11, paragraph 21.
