Earthquake Kills at Least 7 People

A strong earthquake shook eastern Turkey, collapsing several homes and killing at least seven people, an official said. People across Erzurum province rushed from buildings into the streets for safety, said Gov. Mustafa Malay.
The quake, with a preliminary magnitude of 5.1, was centered in the town of Cat, east of Ankara, the capital, the Istanbul-based Kandilli observatory said.
