Vintners Offer Workers Educational Seminars
From Times Wire Reports
Vintners are bridging the language gap with vineyard workers in San Luis Obispo County by providing educational seminars and other agricultural information in Spanish.
The county is home to about 4,000 Spanish-speaking workers, county officials said. The figure doesn’t include migrant workers or those who commute from nearby areas.
It is believed about a third of them speak English, said attorney Mike Blank of California Rural Legal Assistance.
