Recurring shoulder trouble forced Goran Ivanisevic out of the Nasdaq-100 Open Friday, and he said he won’t return.

“I know that it’s my last Key Biscayne for sure,” he said.

Ivanisevic retired from his second-round match after losing a set to Spain’s Rafael Nadal, 6-4. The injury-plagued Croatian has played only nine matches since the beginning of 2003 and has hinted at retiring after one more appearance at Wimbledon.

Second-round men’s upsets included Austrian Jurgen Melzer’s 7-6 (3), 2-6, 7-6 (4) victory over No. 7-seeded Tim Henman of England and French qualifier Julien Benneteau’s 6-4, 6-4 victory over No. 16 Mardy Fish.
