Separating the Contenders and Pretenders

Eighty 2-year-olds will be vying for spots in the Kindergarten Futurity when they compete in 10 trials tonight.

The 10 fastest qualifiers in the 300-yard heats will move into the finals May 15.

The 10th and final trial will mark the return of Dash To The End, a daughter of Red Hot Rhythm who was sensational in her debut April 18.

She won by 2 1/2 lengths in 11.64 seconds, equaling the track record for 220 yards.

The picks: 1. Kool Cartel. 2. Corona Road Runner. 3. Sebtembrist. 4. Separatist Jr. 5. Never Fold. 6. Miss Coronacorona. 7. Dasha Freda. 8. Corona Mas Fina. 9. Special Crown Royal. 10. Dash To The End.

Four! Gulfstream Five and Kool Cartel in the first, Corona Road Runner and No Such Thing in the second, Sebtembrist and Tellin It All in the third and Separtist Jr and La Jolla Ca in the fourth.

Shots in the dark: Corona Mas Fina makes debut for trainer Felix Gonzalez in the fifth. Aprincessofthemoon should improve the experience of a race in the sixth.
