Winning Is Healthy Addiction
The runner-up in her first three career starts, Healthy Addiction has discovered how to win for owner Pamela Ziebarth and trainer John Sadler.
A 3-year-old daughter of Boston Harbor, she has won two in a row and will try to become a stakes winner when she takes on nine others in the $100,000 Railbird, a Grade III at seven furlongs.
Beaten at 7-10 on Feb. 14 at Santa Anita, Healthy Addiction returned a month later to win by four lengths at the Railbird distance, then stretched to 1 1/16 miles.
This will be Healthy Addiction’s first start at Hollywood Park, but she worked well over the track six days ago, drilling six furlongs in 1:12 2/5.
The field includes Speedy Falcon, a daughter of Jeblar who has won six of seven starts while spending most of her career in New Mexico.
Allswellthatnswell, A Precious Memory, Elusive Diva, who is adding the blinkers for trainer Mark Glatt, Mazella, Church Editor, Highest Honoree, Aspen Gal, the 5-2 morning line favorite, and M.A. Fox complete the lineup.
Race of the day: Trial Prep, who has won three of his four races at Aqueduct, is among seven New York breds set to go in the $75,000 Kings Point Handicap.
One for the road: Dynalympic is a son of Dynaformer who will be making his first start for trainer Michael Dickinson in today’s fourth, a $42,000 maiden race at 1 1/8 miles on the turf, at Aqueduct. In his last start, Dynalympic was fourth behind Shakespeare, who came back to win a stakes in his next race, and Statesman, who also returned to score.
Exotically speaking: A pick three using Selvatica in the fourth, Rock Opera, Sardaukar and Academy Spy in the fifth and Bull Headed Wynn and Vegas Bandit in the sixth.
