From Times Staff Reports
A Los Angeles man was in the jail ward at County-USC Medical Center on Sunday after he apparently ran a stop sign and crashed into two cars, killing a woman in her 70s and injuring four other people, authorities said.
Police booked Jose de Jesus Sanchez, 20, on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter for Saturday night’s crash at Marengo Avenue and Monterey Road, said Anthony Abdalla, a South Pasadena police officer.
The identity of the South Pasadena woman who died was being withheld pending notification of next of kin, Abdalla said.
