Priest Fatally Shoots Mayor in Argument
From Times Wire Reports
A Catholic priest shot to death Mayor Lorenzo Ruiz in the Mexican town of Chalpatlahuac after the pair got drunk and began punching each other during a religious festival, state officials said.
“It seems they were arguing, these two men,” Guerrero state spokesman Jesus Nava said.
Newspapers in Guerrero said the priest, whom they identified as Lorenzo Cuellar, had also wounded the mayor’s son. The priest was arrested, the reports said.
