Social Security Scheme
America’s biggest, longest-lasting Ponzi scheme is our Social Security system, in which the ongoing contributions of wage earners are not “saved” or “invested” but are instead immediately given to retirees (May 20). Under federal law, such systems are illegal. Perhaps a class-action lawsuit on behalf of all wage earners to abolish Social Security is warranted because today’s young workers will never see a return on their “investments.” Why? Because, like all Ponzi schemes, it is only a matter of time before our Social Security system self-destructs.
