Amplified Prayer Call Going to Citywide Vote

A noise-ordinance change that would allow Bangladeshi Al-Islah Mosque in Hamtramck to broadcast the call to prayer five times a day on loudspeakers will be put to a citywide vote after opponents gathered hundreds of petition signatures.
The City Council had the choice of rescinding the change or putting it on the ballot.
