Teens Who Set Homeless Man on Fire Sought
From Times Wire Reports
Police were looking Friday for three teenage boys who allegedly threw a flammable substance on a sleeping homeless man, setting him ablaze.
Francis Berkheimer, 53, suffered third-degree burns to his back and arms and was in stable condition Friday, authorities said.
The attack occurred Wednesday night when Berkheimer was sleeping in a brushy area behind a commercial building, but he wasn’t discovered until Thursday morning, when a passerby heard him moaning, police said.
Berkheimer told investigators his assailants appeared to be between 15 and 18.
