State Controller’s Senate Trial to Move Forward

The state Senate met in Carson City and voted down a motion to dismiss impeachment articles against state Controller Kathy Augustine.
Augustine faces charges that she should have known that staffers and equipment in her state office were used in her 2002 reelection campaign.
After the 20-1 vote, the two-term Republican was called before the Senate, where she pleaded innocent.
