The Mitchell mystique
The article on Joni Mitchell was outstanding (“An Art Born of Pain, An Artist in Happy Exile,” Sept. 5). It crystallizes the angst of many in this day and age. She seems like a remarkable woman, but one you might not want to share a room with for too long. She certainly understands the current state of our culture and corresponding society.
Thank you, Robert Hilburn, for capturing that in your work. Reading it helped me better understand my own disenchantment. It does make a difference.
