Blasts Occur Near Banks With Western Ties

Two blasts went off near Western-linked banks in Jidda, Saudi Arabia, injuring at least one person. Witnesses said one explosion occurred near the Samba Financial Group, formerly known as Saudi American Bank. Afterward, the nearby U.S. Consulate was closed.
The other blast took place close to a branch of the Saudi British Bank. The Interior Ministry said one of the blasts occurred in a taxi and injured the driver, who it said had a record of using drugs. He was arrested.
