Writer Hits a Home Run

Re “For the Love of the Game,” Sept. 18: I have no interest in baseball, a game so boring it makes golf look exciting, but I do love good feature writing and I’ve never seen a better example than Terry McDermott’s article on semipro baseball in Cascade, Iowa. Congratulations to The Times for encouraging smart people who write well.
