Family of Slain Man Offers $10,000 Reward

The family of a 26-year-old Ventura man who was fatally shot earlier this year is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest and conviction in the crime.
Ryan Jason Briner was shot May 5 in the 7200 block of Wolverine Street on the city’s west side. He died from shotgun wounds to the torso, authorities said.
No motive is known. The shooting is not believed to be gang related, said Ventura Police Det. Matt Harvill.
Linda Briner, the victim’s mother, said her son went for a walk shortly before the shooting.
