L.A. Needs a LaGuardia

It was great to see all of the attributes that were given to my great-uncle, Fiorello LaGuardia, in “Sewer Socialism” (Opinion, Sept. 12). But Fiorello did more than just great municipal projects to attract Democrat votes; he helped unify New York City from a metropolis that thought of itself as five separate boroughs to the modern city that thinks of itself as one.

Now if only Los Angeles Republicans could find someone who could do the same for Los Angeles.
