A dairy farmer charged in the deaths of two workers who went into a manure pit without training or safety equipment is not guilty of any crime, a jury decided.

Patrick J. Faria was facing two counts of involuntary manslaughter and charges that he violated the state Labor Code in the deaths of Enrique Araisa and Jose Alatorre on his Gustine dairy on Feb. 2, 2001.

Jurors did tell the court they were concerned that state regulations still seemed lax.
