Driver Dies in Head-On Crash on California 150
A 77-year-old Ojai man was killed Tuesday after his car collided head-on with another vehicle on California 150, between Ojai and Santa Paula.
Richard Gomez Corrall was pronounced dead at the scene of the 7 a.m. crash near Sulphur Mountain Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
Corrall was driving east when he collided with Marvin Roberto Santos, 33, of Canoga Park, who was coming from the opposite direction, authorities said.
A passerby helped Santos out of his vehicle through the passenger window, authorities said.
Santos, who suffered serious neck and back injuries, was taken to Ojai Valley Hospital.
Eastbound traffic on the highway was closed for about three hours after the crash.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, authorities said.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
