Man, 20, Identified as Victim of Fatal Shooting
Ventura County coroner’s officials have identified a 20-year-old Oxnard man fatally shot this week.
The body of Roland Espinosa was found early Monday in the alley of the 600 block of South E Street with a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.
Although some residents later told police of hearing a gunshot, authorities said they were not notified until a man found the body while leaving for work about 4:35 a.m.
The shooting occurred a day after a man was found shot to death in another Oxnard alley. The body of Oscar Rosendo Ponce, 33, was found in the 3000 block of South G Street after police responded about 12:30 a.m. to a call about a possible shooting victim. Ponce had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.
Police said they have no motives in either slaying.
