Corona del Mar Girls to Meet Edison Again
Corona del Mar will have an opportunity today to avenge its loss to Huntington Beach Edison in the Division I championship of the Dave Mohs Memorial girls’ volleyball tournament when it travels to Edison for a 5:45 p.m. nonleague match.
Edison (8-1) won, 25-23, 24-26, 16-14, on Monday behind the play of senior middle blocker Colleen Burke, who was chosen the tournament’s most valuable player. Corona del Mar is 7-2.
In the Division II championship, Solana Beach Santa Fe Christian defeated Fullerton, 16-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Television stations LA36 and KLCS will broadcast on a delayed basis Thursday’s girls’ volleyball match involving San Pedro and host Chatsworth.
LA36 will broadcast the match at 9 p.m. Friday and KLCS will show it at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Miscellany
A memorial service for former Glendale track and cross-country coach John Barnes will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the school’s library. Barnes died of cancer at age 72 last month in Suffolk, Va. Barnes, an NCAA champion half-miler at Occidental College and a member of the 1952 U.S. Olympic team, was the first track and cross-country coach at Crescenta Valley.
