All about avocados
More than 100,000 visitors are expected to ply the seaside streets this weekend in downtown Carpinteria, where the California Avocado Festival will be holding sway. Each year the event boasts the world’s largest batch of guacamole, plus three entertainment stages with more than 40 acts, county fair-style activities and contests, artisans and a children’s activity center. New for this year are International Student Film Festival screenings. Proceeds raised during the event support charitable causes.
