Man Hit, Killed When His Car Stalls on Tollway
A 36-year-old man was killed on the Foothill toll road late Thursday when he stepped out of his disabled car and was struck by another vehicle, officials said.
John Patrick Brennan of Aliso Viejo was driving north on California 241 near Santiago Canyon Road in an unincorporated area east of Orange about 10:15 p.m. when his car stalled in a traffic lane, officials said.
He got out of his car and was struck by an Oldsmobile, officials said. Brennan died at the scene.
The driver of the Oldsmobile, a 55-year-old man from Riverside, was not injured.
No citations were issued pending an investigation, officials said.
