Wisdom of the aged
Re “In Reagan Country, Elderly Docents Feeling Snubbed,” Aug. 28
How sad it is that elderly docents are being dismissed in a place that pays homage to a president who was elderly. It is even sadder that our country has little consideration for people of advanced age.
Youth is the god. It is obvious in the television offerings, the people who get selected to speak to radio talk-show hosts, the cosmetic industry and other business ventures.
In a place like the Reagan Library, elderly docents should be treasured for their devotion and knowledge. Shame on the committee that elected to dump them like yesterday’s paper.
