Deadline Set for Bidding on 4 El Toro Parcels
Federal administrators charged with auctioning 3,700 acres of the closed El Toro Marine base to private developers said Tuesday the deadline for bids would be 3 p.m. on Feb. 9.
Two of the four parcels for sale have received single bids for the minimum starting amounts: $125 million for 920 acres on the northwest corner of the base, and $220 million for 1,752 acres on the east side. The other parcels had received no bids as of Tuesday.
If bids are received on the deadline day, the auction will be continued for an extra day.
