Judge Urged Cop Not to Arrest Her, Video Shows
A state Supreme Court justice pulled over for alleged drunk driving urged a police officer not to arrest her and cited her rulings in drunk driving cases, according to police videotapes.
Justice Alice Robie Resnick, 65, of Toledo is set to appear in court today, one week after police stopped her on Interstate 75 in northern Ohio. Her lawyer filed a request last week indicating that she wanted to change her not guilty plea.
Resnick was recorded on a patrol car camera telling the officer who stopped her that she “did have something to drink.” She also repeatedly asked to be let go.
