Government Disputes Account of Lethal Clash

Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry disputed local officials who said nine Afghan troops had been killed late last week, saying the nine dead were armed men with no connection to Afghan security forces.
The ministry speculated that the Helmand province clash might have been the result of a feud between drug gangs and said an investigation had begun.
