Man Dies After Being Struck by Tow Truck
A man was killed Sunday morning when he was struck by a tow truck that was pulling his vehicle, authorities said.
Leoncio Flores, 42, was trying to get the tow truck driver’s attention as his Chevy Suburban was being towed from an apartment complex at 1100 S. Mantle St. in Santa Ana, Police Sgt. Lorenzo Carrillo said.
Flores fell after catching up to the tow truck’s driver’s window and was struck by the truck’s rear wheels and the front wheels of his Suburban, police said. The driver, Paul Michael Sassenberer, 29, was detained at the scene and released pending further investigation, Carrillo said.
