Doctor Reinstated After Whistle-Blower Appeal

A U.N. doctor whose contract was terminated after he co-wrote a book critical of the United Nations said he had been reinstated on an appeal claiming whistle-blower status.
Andrew Thomson co-authored “Emergency Sex and Other Desperate Measures: A True Story From Hell on Earth,” which told of parties with alcohol, drugs and sex during his stints on peacekeeping missions, and described his disappointment with the U.N.
