Update -- The Lynx had one major accomplishment last year, ending an 18-game regular-season losing streak to the Sparks in September. But Minnesota did not get its 2005 season off to a good start, losing its opener Sunday in Houston. The Comets had a strong defensive effort against All-Star guard Katie Smith, holding her to nine points, but Smith has had big games against the Sparks. She needs 261 points this season to reach the 5,000-point milestone, including games in the ABL as well as the WNBA.
