Defending Champions Fall
John Dutton threw six touchdown passes as the Colorado Crush beat the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats, 56-48, in a divisional playoff game Sunday at Denver.
Dutton’s 38-yard scoring strike to Damian Harrell early in the fourth quarter broke a 42-42 tie. The Crush will face the Chicago Rush in the American Conference championship game Sunday at home.
Dutton, who led the SaberCats to the 2002 ArenaBowl title, was 19 for 29 passing for 315 yards.
In other playoff games:
Orlando 47, New York 42 -- Joe Hamilton threw four touchdown passes and ran for another score at Uniondale, N.Y.
The Predators advanced to the National Conference championship game Saturday against the Georgia Force in Atlanta.
Georgia 62, Tampa Bay 46 -- Matt Nagy threw five touchdown passes, and Troy Bergeron caught three scores at Atlanta. Nagy was 21 for 38 for 223 yards.
