Early Morning Quakes Rattle Resort Area

Two small earthquakes shook Central California early Monday about 10 miles southeast of the popular mountain resort at Mammoth Lakes.
A magnitude 3.4 quake struck at 2:16 a.m., followed by a magnitude 3.7 temblor three minutes later, according to a preliminary report from the U.S. Geological Survey. The quakes were centered about 60 miles northeast of Fresno, near the town of Tom’s Place in Mono County.
There were no reports of damage or injury, a Sheriff’s Department dispatch operator said.
