The Doctor Should Know Better
I cringed when I saw the photo of Dr. Jennifer Berman on her horse, which she couldn’t “live without” (“Dr. Berman’s Sex RX,” by Anne-Marie O’Connor, Oct. 2). Pulling so hard on the reins forces the horse to open its mouth and causes “hard mouth.” This forms a callous and makes a horse’s mouth lose sensitivity, and the horse can be harder to control. Any experienced horseman would know this, or should. Ease up, doctor!
