Civilians Flee Airstrikes Targeting Tamil Rebels

About 40,000 civilians fled homes in Sri Lanka to escape government airstrikes on Tamil Tiger rebel areas that have left at least a dozen people dead in recent days, the rebels said.
The strikes were carried out after attacks on a top Sri Lankan commander and on navy craft this week, military officials said.
