Searchers Find Hiker Reported Missing
A hiker whose husband had reported her missing Sunday in the San Bernardino Mountains was found Monday evening, authorities said.
Melissa Foo, 34, was found about 6:45 p.m. walking on the side of a road by a searcher who had finished a day of searching and was driving home. Foo was taken to a local hospital. Her condition was not immediately released by authorities.
Foo’s husband, Marcus Peterson, had told officials that he and his wife, both experienced hikers from San Diego, had slept at Limber Pine campground Saturday night.
The next morning, Peterson said, he hiked ahead of her toward Washington’s Monument, a spot a mile or two south of their camp. When she didn’t arrive, he retraced their hike and reported her missing.
