30-Year Mortgage Rates Slip Further, to 6.15%
Average rates on 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages dropped to 6.15% this week, down from 6.21% last week, mortgage company Freddie Mac reported.
Rates on 15-year, fixed-rate mortgages averaged 5.71%, down from 5.76% last week. One-year adjustable-rate mortgages fell slightly, to 5.15% from 5.16%. Five-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages fell to 5.76% from 5.78%.
The nationwide averages for mortgage rates do not include add-on fees known as points. The five-year ARM carried an average fee of 0.5 point. The other categories carried a nationwide average fee of 0.6 point.
