What a Tangled Web Dodgers Weave
Although I have questioned many of Ned Colletti’s moves this off-season, not succumbing to Scott Boras’ contact demands for the very average Jeff Weaver is a welcome step in the right direction.

This is the second year in a row that the Dodgers let their best player get away. Jeff Weaver did it all. He got the outs. It wasn’t his fault when Jim Tracy left him in too long.
I think that the Dodgers wasted their time in trying to get David Wells. They could have re-signed Weaver from the beginning and started looking forward to the 2006 season.

The only thing worse than Houston Mitchell’s story about Dodgers not in the Hall of Fame is that only one of those players mentioned even has his jersey retired.
How could this team not retire the jerseys of Gil Hodges, Steve Garvey, Maury Wills and Ron Cey? The only Dodger jersey to be retired from the ‘70’s and ‘80s is Don Sutton’s.
Show some class and some history and put those jerseys up on display forever.

So Eddie Murray will be the Dodgers’ batting coach and longtime minor league hitting coach Mariano Duncan will instead be the first base coach (still quite an odd choice, since he got there so rarely as a batter, with a Dodger on-base percentage under .300).
When Duncan appeared to be tabbed to be the batting coach, there was concern that Steve Sax would be the new fielding coach.
