Stars Win Another Shootout
Jussi Jokinen and Sergei Zubov scored shootout goals on backhanders to lift the Dallas Stars to a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night at Denver. The Stars are 7-0 in shootouts.
“I’ve used the same move and the same shot on all my shootouts,” said Jokinen, who is seven for seven in shootouts. “So why change up on something that is working?”

The Edmonton Oilers made two trades, acquiring Jaroslav Spacek from the Chicago Blackhawks for left wing Tony Salmelainen and getting Dick Tarnstrom from Pittsburgh for forward Jani Rita and defenseman Cory Criss.... Peter Forsberg will sit out at least two games because of a slight tear in his left groin, a recurring injury that sidelined the Philadelphia Flyer center for two games last week.
