Vehicles on Freeway Hit by Bricks
A motorcyclist was slightly injured and eight vehicles were damaged Monday by bricks believed to have been thrown onto the Garden Grove Freeway.
The motorcyclist was treated at the scene in Garden Grove, and no arrests have been made, said Officer Katrina Lundgren, a spokeswoman for the California Highway Patrol.
Reports of the attacks began about 7:45 p.m., Lundgren said, when a motorist called from the area of the Fairview Street and Haster Street offramps to say that a car windshield had been shattered.
During the next 30 minutes, she said, similar attacks targeted a second car, a big rig, a motorcycle and four buses. Windows were broken on most of them.
“We don’t know whether [the bricks] were coming from an overpass or thrown over a sound wall,” Lundgren said.
The incident is under investigation, she said.
