Fox News Reaches Carry Deal With Cablevision
Fox News, a unit of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., reached a carrying agreement with Cablevision Systems Corp., as Murdoch attempts to increase rates at his decade-old network in its first round of renewals.
Fox’s surge to the top of the ratings gives Murdoch an opening to extract higher fees from cable operators including Comcast Corp. and Time Warner Inc.
Although terms weren’t disclosed, Murdoch received “north of 75 cents” per subscriber per month from Bethpage, N.Y.-based Cablevision, Multichannel News reported.
