Rangers get back in series
NEW YORK — Michal Rozsival wound up, with his sore knee and all, and shot some life back into the New York Rangers’ season.
Rozsival, banged up in each of the first two games of the playoff series against Buffalo, fired a shot from just inside the blue line 16:43 into the second overtime Sunday to lift the Rangers to a 2-1 victory over the Sabres.
Buffalo still leads the Eastern Conference semifinal series 2-1, but the Rangers can get even with a Game 4 victory Tuesday night in Madison Square Garden.
New York ended a six-game losing streak to Buffalo.
Jaromir Jagr gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead in the second period, but the Sabres tied it with 7:46 left in regulation when Daniel Briere finally took advantage of a slew of Buffalo power plays.
