Driver pleads not guilty in Stanton crash
A La Habra man has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence of marijuana when the pickup truck he was driving slammed into the back of a car stopped at a red light in Stanton, critically injuring two young sisters.
Joseph Manore, 22, was charged with felony driving under the influence and four enhancements of inflicting great bodily injury after hitting a car Sunday carrying Ariana Figueroa, 6, and her sister Brittany, 11.
The two Garden Grove girls, initially placed on life support and put in medically induced comas, have made great progress and are likely to recover fully, their physician said. They were listed in good condition.
Manore, who entered his plea Tuesday, was ordered to return to court in Westminster on Friday for a pretrial hearing. He remains at the Orange County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
