Man pleads not guilty in theft
A 44-year-old man pleaded not guilty Friday to charges of arson, burglary and grand theft. He is accused of taking $100,000 from a safe at the Union Rescue Mission and setting a fire to cover it up, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said.
Alvin Synder has been ordered held at Los Angeles County Jail and is scheduled to return to court Dec. 19.
