Bandits burn bus, killing 10 people

Highway bandits set fire to a bus during a botched robbery, burning to death 10 people, authorities said.
Gen. Luis Alberto Moore, head of Colombia’s highway police, told local media that three young assailants among the 22 aboard tried to commandeer the bus late Wednesday on a highway near Sogamoso, about 90 miles northeast of Bogota, the capital.
When the passengers resisted, the thieves doused the interior with gasoline and set it on fire, police said. Two of the assailants were among the dead, and the third was arrested.
