Governor is urged to pardon ‘Jena 6’

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus called on Democratic Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco to pardon Mychal Bell and five other teenagers known as the “Jena 6.”
Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Texas) said in a letter to Blanco this week that the teens have paid their debt to society and should be pardoned.
Blanco leaves office Jan. 14.
