Re the mention of Deacon Jones’ Redwood Bar residency in Geoff Boucher’s column [A Scattered Life, Dec. 20]:
I’m glad you discovered Deacon and gave him a plug. He has been around forever and certainly deserves the PR in these karaoke, “American Idol” times.
I have known Deacon for a long time, and a few years back I hired him to play with my band on a couple of songs as part of my show when I was performing at a festival. Deacon is a nice guy, a real character and a tremendous keyboard player.
