Hunter launches White House bid

Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-El Cajon), best known for his advocacy on behalf of the military, launched a longshot bid for the presidency in Spartanburg.
Hunter told supporters he wanted to pick up on President Reagan’s legacy. He announced plans for a bid in October.
South Carolina is an early-primary state.
