Council likely to vote on releasing billboard lists
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
The City Council is expected to vote today on whether lists of billboard locations should be public information.
Billboard companies sued the city over its inspection program and, as part of a settlement reached last year, the firms agreed to hand over lists of their sign locations.
But some of the firms want access to those lists restricted. The city attorney’s office hasn’t taken a stance on the issue, but a motion submitted Tuesday by council members Jack Weiss and Wendy Greuel asks that the information be made public.
